In October of 2006, I assisted another HPD Officer who was involved in a physical confrontation with a suspect. The suspect was highly intoxicated on meth crystal and LSD and was very combative. As a result of this confrontation, I received lower back soft tissue injury and time off of work and not allowed me to work overtime to help make ends meet. This created a financial strain on my family as I am the
sole provider for my family of three. Assist the Officer reviewed my claim and awarded me assistance which was very much appreciated in my time of need.

I was injured in a major vehicle accident, on duty, on February 26, 2007. Due to the injuries that I incurred, I had to undergo two major surgeries that caused me to be off of work for ten months.
